Hi Buddy!

Yes, I love the song too, and it is a joy to play. It is one of the few real old ones that I still remember. But, when I figured it out, many years ago (~1975, I remember sitting in my college room, and after figuring out the A part in the key of F, when it got to the alternating bass in the B part, realizing that it was played out of E position (duh!) having to re-do it all) ... um, anyway, mine is still a somewhat idiosyncratic transcription - which, also, I never actually wrote down. Since then, I’m pretty sure it has been transcribed by either Craig Dobbins or John Knowles - I’ll look and see whether I have it some time this week when I get a chance.

I located a tabbed version in the out-of-print John Knowles book, “Heavy Neckin’” This is a link to an approximation of that tab. If you play the MIDI you will see that the tab is written out straight without the swing feel of the tune. That’s the best way to learn it. Then you can change the eighth note pairs to pairs that are more like dotted quarter note/sixteenth note pairs to swing it up.

Here’s The Tab

And,

Here’s The MIDI

Enjoy!
