Reedology - New Version

Well, I was able to balance the equation of the previous post. But I discovered that the memory card that came with the PXR4 was too small to use any effects or do any processing. Probably just as well, since guys like me tend to ruin a perfectly beautiful guitar sound by overprocessing it. But I ordered a 128MB SmartMedia card right away, so we'll see what happens.

Anyway, this is a one-take version of Reedology with some niced up chording, no fingerpicks, and all digital. I recorded it at 1AM Saturday/Sunday, and it ain't bad for that hour. Took me awhile to figure out that damned Korg doo-dad.

I am working my ass off on getting the tablature written. It's not all that straightforward for some reason (including that I'm not that good at writing stuff out - being a "play-it-by-ear" guy.

Hey, you know, even if you don't like fingerpicking acoustic guitar, you might take a listen to all the cool chording and musical movement in this tune. This is some truly bitchin' stuff if you ask me.

Now that I have my palm-sized recording studio, I'll probably do a bunch of new versions of things. I should probably play this one a little slower so people other than guitarists can dig it, but here it is for now ... tab on the way in a couple of days I hope ...

Addendum:
Okay, I really slaved today, and I have managed to get the tablature to Reedology posted. Enjoy it!

Damn Oscar! I don’t know if you remember me, but I recorded some of your banjo music in Cleveland long ago.
But listen, that Reedology is great stuff! Any guitar player can see that.

I can’t WAIT until you get that tab done. I will be the first person to learn it. Email me if you would. Wow!

I came to your site by a search for The Claw and Jerry Reed, and then I remembered you from Cleveland. And I was lucky enough to come across your new post of Reedology. Keep it up Oscar. Us regular mortal guitar players are very thankful!
